Wildlife Art

Macaque Nibbles

Masks, gloves and other COVID-19 prevention materials might have saved human lives, but they pose great danger to wildlife! Causing animals to choke and getting strangled. They are worn once, and adding another one to the pile every single day. My goal with this piece is to bring awareness to the consequences of our behavior on the world around us. Please take care, cut the straps off the masks and dispose them properly. Also, when you see them laying around in nature. You might just save a life!

Young Tree Climbing Lion

On Sun, March 21, 2021 BBC news announced that six lions have been found dead after suspected poisoning at Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda. The lions were found with their heads and paws hacked off, their bodies surrounded by dead vultures, officials said. This is devastating news! This beautiful young lion at the start of his life is probably one of the victims of this awful crime.

Primal Love

The mountain gorilla does not have many natural predators. However, due to human activities like poaching, destruction of habitat and civil wars in Africa, these beautiful apes are on the list of endangered species.

Desolation

In the past 25 years, forests shrank by an area bigger than the size of South Africa. Every year an area the size of Switzerland (38300 square km) is lost to deforestation. Our forests are home to 80% of terrestrial biodiversity. This is devastating, but we can all contribute and be part of the solution!

Support products of companies that are committed to reducing deforestation. It’s all about business. If you don’t buy, they won’t sell and therefore produce. Additionally, we can buy certified wood products, go paperless whenever possible, limit our consumption of products that use palm oil, buy recycled products and recycle them again, raise awareness, and plant trees!

Inner Strength
The Bengal tiger is one of the tiger species in danger of extinction. Through this piece I would like to bring awareness to the danger this beautiful animal is facing. By protecting tigers and their natural habitat, reducing human-tiger conflict and by fighting against illegal trading hopefully this animal can be taken off the endangered species list one day.
